Hi people, I hope you all are doing good. This is to inform everybody that I have just returned from a very tiring and learning 'on-site' (Kenya). And I am back to my favourites...food/beer & movies! hahaha. If you are regular to this website then you will be confirmed that I have been watching quite a good number of world movies rather than Hollywood. And in the way of my world movies journey..I got hooked to this movie called "The Aura". This one is from the land of "Maradona & Lionel Messi"!! I mean from Argentina. Till now I know only one the about Argentina that is Argentina = Soccer..but from now on..Argentina = good movies :) so, lets know about this aura
This is the story about a person the hallucinating voyage of Espinoza, a quiet, cynical taxidermist, who suffers epilepsy attacks, and is obsessed with committing the perfect crime.
He claims that the cops are too stupid to find out about it when it's well executed, and that the robbers are too stupid to execute it the right way; and that he could do it himself relying on his photographic memory and his strategic planning skills.
On his first ever hunting trip, in the calm of the Patagonian forest, with one squeeze of the trigger his dreams are made real. Espinoza has accidentally killed a man who turns out to be a real criminal and he inherits his scheme: the heist of an armored truck carrying casino profits.
Moved by morbid curiosity, and later by an inexorable flow of events, the taxidermist sees himself thrown into his fantasies, piece by piece completing a puzzle irremediably encircling him. And he does it while struggling with his greatest weakness: epilepsy. Before each seizure he is visited by the "aura": a paradoxical moment of confusion and enlightenment where the past and future seem to blend.
As per Vish: Yes, the story looks very simple and straight on the paper. But writing the interesting screen play and executing makes it a big difference and Mr.Fabián Bielinsky who I believe is a Maradona of Argentina films has executed it so perfectly that you hardly find a fault in his narration. And "Ricardo Darín" as Espinosa has lived in the role. So, people for this weekend pick this fantastic thriller called "The Aura" from Argentina....and have a nice viewing :)
