Hi people I hope every one are having fun in their professional and personal life. Its been over 50 days that I have been in Brisbane (Australia) and I observed the work culture between we (Indians) and Australians. Here these people give importance to everything...be it their job, their career, personal life, fitness, cricket and having beer with the buddies on friday's. If Ponting is in 90's they do CTRL+ALT+DEL to work and watch till he reaches century(including CIO and CEO). Another example is, on the eve of Christmas our client has given a party and most of the employees didnt bring their car and brought extra pair of dress (party wear) to the work place. The reason why they didnt bring their vehicle is...they decided to have fun and they know that it will be beyond thier usual boozing limits...and they are also aware of the consequences of drunken driving! It looks very simple but the way they planned is superb. These kind of attitude is missing in our day-to-day life...either we spend completely in the office...or enjoy the day. The one major thing which I learned in these days is how to balance 24hrs and how to accomodate everything in that 24hrs...and trust me its been very difficult to maintain this balance. Lets see how far I can achieve in this....
Coming to the movies...from past one month I am watching quite number of foriegn movies..Hongkong, Iran, Swedish, Hungarian, British, Japanese and Korean. This movie is from Japan and it gave me goose bumps right from the first reel. If you like watching korean thrillers...then this one looks similar to it....but the best part is its narration...almost every scene looks like a climax of the movie yet there is lot of stuff in the plot. So...lets hear their "Confessions"...
Yuko Moriguchi (Takako Matsu), a junior high teacher, announces she will resign. She reveals that her daughter, Manami, was killed by two pupils in her class, whom she dubs "Student A" and "Student B". Her disclosure of their behavior soon reveals their identities, but she recognizes that they will escape punishment as legal minors. Instead, she admits to injecting her dead husband's HIV contaminated blood into the milk cartons that the murderers have just drank from. The rest of the film describes the aftermath of this event in a series of first-person narratives from the two students, Moriguchi, and others.
A new enthusiastic teacher is appointed. Student A, Shuya Watanabe, continues to attend classes but student B, Naoki Shimomura, has developed psychiatric problems.
Naoki is worried that he will soon die from AIDS and refuses to clean himself, as he equated the smell of untamed hair and body odor to being alive. His mom tries to help but fails as Student B reacts violently to her gestures and shuts himself in his room. His mother eventually realizes that her once good and kind son has transformed into an unknown monster. Seeing no hope, she decides to end their lives.....
Shuya(student A) describes how his mother divorced his father when he was young because she was unhappy with the role of a house wife and chose instead to pursue her scientific ambitions. He wants to prove himself to her and to earn her attention, which evolved from clever little inventions to gruesome recordings of him killing and dissecting animals. His first public invention, an electric anti-mugger wallet, earns him a science fair award but fails to make the headlines because of a sensational murder that occurs on the same day. He decides to kill someone so that he can become front page news.
hmmmm interesting stories...so what happens to Student B (Naoki) who has now become a monster, will he be killed by his mother? why is he so worried about AIDS though student A (shuya) is having fun? Student A (shuya) who has decided to get attention by killing someone...will he able to achieve it? To know the secrets of this tale..you have to pick this flick for the weekend.
As per Vish:- As I told you it is not in the story but in the narration and presentation which makes this movie work big time. Though these kind of vengence movies have come from Korean makers in the recent times...this is the first time that I have scene such a flick from Japanese Cinema...technically Cinematography takes the movie to the next level. Have a super weekend with this super movie :)
