Al Capone is a big businessman in Chicago who supplies poor quality liquor for high prices and runs his business with guns and bombs. Treasury Department agent Eliot Ness is put in charge of leading the crusade against Capone and his empire. Ness is a very strict and young officer who gets disappointed with his first failure to show the reality behind Capone's business. One day Ness meat beat cop named Jim Malone who is also against to Capone. Malone reluctantly joins Ness and becomes his mentor, teaching him never to trust anyone in the corrupt police department. They both start recruiting young and honest men who are ready to fight against Capone.
The rest of the story is how the Ness team fight against the bigwig Capone who has full support from all over. Performance wise Sean Connery as Irish-American Jim Malone is at his best once again and he actually won Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for this role. And Kevin Costner as Ness is just superduper. But few may disappoint with Robert de Niro who is such a good actor but given very little time to show his ability as Capone.
As per vish: A good classic action movie. You can give it a try. Action scenes are superbly choreographed.
