The Princess and the Frog

Hello people the moment I woke up @ 6:30 wonderful rain wished me 'Good Morning' and the moment I got ready my GF spoke to me sweetly..hmmm thats what I call 'romantic day' :) I hope you too had this kind of wonderful start to your day.

Coming to today's movie it is a romantic/musical tale of Frog & Princess!! Yes before your you yell WTF...let me clarify that all this happens with an animation. The wonderful thing about these animated flicks are...what ever we think is impossible in our daily life can be imagined and implemented through these flicks. Take the example of my previous animation flick 'Fantastic Mr. Fox' where Fox which is considered to be the most cunning animal is shown as a doted father/lover with a kind heart and who takes vengeance on humans...which is absolutely not possible in real life. And in this movie too there is a similar kind of situation where you think...this happens only in fairy tale or only in animation flicks. So, people lets see whats this fairy tale all about...

The film follows waitress and aspiring restaurant owner Tiana as she tries to fulfill her late father's dream. In the opening scene, we see our heroine working two jobs just to save up enough money to secure the ideal building for her restaurant. Despite her mother's worries, Tiana remains single minded in opening "Tiana's Place."

Meanwhile, Prince Naveen of Maldonia has arrived in New Orleans determined to better his financial situation. After being cut off by his parents, Naveen is forced to marry a rich southern belle. It soon becomes obvious that Tiana's firecracker of a best friend, Charlotte LeBouf is the perfect candidate.

Lurking in the shadows is voodoo master, Dr. Facilier. Angry at the neglect he receives from the rich and powerful, Facilier ropes the money hungry Naveen and his emotionally abused side-kick, Lawrence into a terrible scheme that involves turning Naveen into a frog. Lawrence adopts the prince's likeness and sets out to marry Charlotte with plans to split the money with Facilier who has some shady plans of his own.

hmmm interesting what happens next??? will our Money minded prince able to comeout of his curse?? will our princess able to realize that she is romancing with side-kick??? and most importantly will our sweet Tiana able to start her own restaurant?? to know all these secrets you have to watch this flick.

As per Vish: A MUST WATCH movie for all romantic/musical/animation flick lovers. It as everything that is needed to be a good love story...a rich guy...a poor lady...an evil minded villian...and couple of side-kicks who help them all the way to persue their love...and added are wonderfully animated scenes....accompanied with songs which made this flick to get 3 Academy Award nominations. One for 'Best Animation Film' and 2 for 'Best Original Score'. So all those romantic ladies & gents have a fantastic viewing :)

The Lion King 1½

Heeey people I can see your tired faces after a looong holiday break but dont worry I am back with Timon and Pumbaa to make you sing 'Hakuna matata'... lol so lets start the show...

Timon (Nathan Lane) lives in a meerkat colony far away from Pride Rock. He was one of the worst diggers underground giving him titles from his other meerkats such as "Tunnel Klutz". He was also the target of comments like "Who else could break a hole?" While his mother has always been sympathetic and encouraging of Timon, his Uncle Max (Jerry Stiller) is more skeptical and embarrassed by his nephew. His father is not mentioned at all in the film, but did appear in a deleted scene; a sort of flashback. Timon's mother (Julie Kavner) convinces Uncle Max to give Timon a job as sentry. The job results in disaster when Uncle Max narrowly escapes being eaten by the three hyenas Shenzi, Banzai and Ed (Whoopi Goldberg, Cheech Marin and Jim Cummings). Timon loses the little respect of his mom that he has and leaves, hoping to find his place in the world.

On his journey Timon meets Rafiki (Robert Guillaume), who tells Timon that he seeks "Hakuna Matata", and tells him to "look beyond what you see". Timon mistakes Rafiki's words of wisdom as an actual place located at Pride Rock. Along the way, Timon and Pumbaa (Ernie Sabella) meet for the first time. Unfortunately, Timon was scared of predators which made Timon and Pumbaa scream loudly when they bump into each other. Timon becomes acquainted with Pumbaa, hoping he will repel predators and head off toward Pride Rock together.

The adventures of Timon and Pumbaa begin to coincide with the events of The Lion King at this point. They arrive at Pride Rock, but to their dismay a herd of animals were already there, causing Timon to believe that Rafiki told everyone about Pride Rock. When Timon and Pumbaa walk through the herd of animals witnessing the presentation of the new-born Simba (cub by Matt Weinberg, teenager and adult by Matthew Broderick). Pumbaa has a flatulence problem, and he accidentally farts which causes a few animals to collapse from the terrible smell. The animals in front see this and believe that the fallen animals are bowing, and soon they all bow together too (this is seen as being an accident, which explains while during Kiara presentation the animals did not bow).

Timon and Pumbaa continue their journey and find a new home at a watering hole which looks like a miniature version of Pride Rock (the same one that Zazu (Edward Hibbert) would later take Simba and Nala (Moira Kelly) to). One morning, they are disturbed by some noise from outside, which is actually Simba, Nala, and the animals singing "I Just Can't Wait to be King". Timon, believing that their new home is at a "theater district", gets mad and hits the leg of an elephant supporting the tower of animals. The elephant jumps in surprise and causes the tower to collapse, explaining why it collapsed in the original film.

Timon and Pumbaa's home is ruined by this event and they set off to find another home. On the way, Pumbaa repeatedly attempts to talk about a large, luscious empty jungle that he once saw, but Timon ignores him. They travel to the elephant graveyard and witness Mufasa and Zazu saving the cubs from the hyenas. That night, going further into the graveyard, they witness an army of hyenas marching to "Be Prepared", and the duo run away by Irish stepdancing due to a comment they've made about Riverdance. Later, they end up in the gorge only to encounter a wildebeest stampede, which is the same one from the original film where Simba loses his father. In the midst of it all they fall down a waterfall. On dry land, Pumbaa explains his story, saying he had nowhere to call home, and Timon is so touched that he officially declares each other friends. The wake up the next morning and find themselves before the very same jungle that Pumbaa saw in which they make their new home. Later they find Simba and the film shows us some of their life in the jungle throughout the years.

As per vish: This movie runs like a prequel to the first one and it gives more preference to Timon and Pumbaa's friendship than Simba. But as its precedor this one too has soul and makes you glued to the screen till the end credits roll. So enjoy this show with your family and friends :)

The Lion King

Heeey people I hope everyone enjoyed my last horror movie RoseMary's Baby today I am bringing you Lion! no no no not a horror or a thriller movie but a very sweet movie with loads of adventure/comedy/drama and most importantly humming music, so lets start the show...

The Lion King takes place in the fictional Pride Lands of Africa, where a lion rules over the other animals as king. At the beginning of the film, Rafiki (Robert Guillaume), a wise old mandrill shaman, anoints Simba (Swahili for Lion) (cub by Jonathan Taylor Thomas and later, adult by Matthew Broderick), the newborn cub of King Mufasa (James Earl Jones) and Queen Sarabi (Madge Sinclair), and presents him to a massive gathering of animals at Pride Rock ("Circle of Life"). Meanwhile, Mufasa's younger brother, Scar (Jeremy Irons), upset that he is no longer the heir to the throne, plots to kill Mufasa and Simba.

Mufasa later takes Simba on a tour of the Pride Lands, teaching him about the Circle of Life, the delicate balance affecting all living things. The tour is cut short when Mufasa's adviser, the hornbill Zazu (Rowan Atkinson), alerts him of hyena sightings in the Pride Lands. Later at Pride Rock, Scar piques Simba's curiosity about the elephant graveyard, a place where Mufasa has forbidden Simba to go. Simba, trying to prove his courage, eludes Zazu and takes his best friend Nala (cub by Niketa Calame and later, adult by Moira Kelly) there. ("I Just Can't Wait to Be King"). At the graveyard, the cubs are greeted by Shenzi, Banzai and Ed (Whoopi Goldberg, Cheech Marin and Jim Cummings), Scar's hyenas who attempt to kill them. The cubs are instead rescued by Mufasa. Scar is furious that his plan has failed, and gains the loyalty of hyenas by claiming that if he becomes king, they'll "never go hungry again" ("Be Prepared").

Some time later, Scar lures Simba into a gorge for a "surprise from his father", while the hyenas create a wildebeest stampede through it. Alerted by Scar, Mufasa races to rescue Simba from the stampede. He saves his son, but is left clinging to the edge of a steep cliff. Mufasa asks Scar for help, but Scar instead flings his brother into the stampede below. Simba, who sees his father fall, (but not the reason for the fall) rushes down to his father's body. Scar convinces the young cub that he was responsible for his father's death, and recommends that he flee from the Pride Lands. As Simba is running off, Scar once again sends Shenzi, Banzai and Ed to kill Simba, but Simba flees through a thornbush-covered embankment, and they let him escape. Informed by Scar that both Mufasa and Simba were killed, the pride allows Scar to assume the throne as the next in line. Still mourning, they are told the hyenas are now part of the pride.

awwww what happens to Simbha will he ever able to comeback to rule his kingdom or not is the remaining interesting and funfull story.

As per Vish: No doubt one of the best musical's I have seen in recent times with loads of drama and comedy. So its a must watch movie for all movie lovers...Just enjoy the show :)
