Hi people, I hope everyone had a great week...but I am getting weaker every week! lol yeah you got it right it is just work work work for me, and as you all know my only past time is watching some brilliant movies. The best part of being on-site is the work is heavy, beers are cheap and movies can be dowloaded at work place. So, as I cant share either my work or my beer....the only thing left is movies...and hence writing these reviews and thus sharing my knowledge!! Today I am coming up with a brilliant movie called "Following" which is directed by none other than my all time favourite director "Christopher Nolan". This flick is a first movie of Nolan but you dont feel that either in direction or in his screen writing..and that proves that he is not a director by chance..but with cause. So, are you guys & gals FOLLOWING..

A struggling, unemployed young writer takes to following strangers around the streets of London, ostensibly to find inspiration for his first novel.

Initially, he sets strict rules for himself regarding whom he should follow and for how long, but soon discards them as he focuses on a well-groomed, handsome young man in a dark suit. The man in the suit, having noticed he is being followed, quickly confronts the young man and introduces himself as "Cobb". Cobb reveals that he is a serial burglar and invites the young man to accompany him on various burglaries. The material gains from these crimes seem to be of secondary importance to Cobb, who takes pleasure in rifling through the personal items in his targets' flats, and doing things such as drinking their wine. He explains that his true passion is using the shock of robbery and violation of property to make his victims re-examine their lives. He sums up his attitude thus: "You take it away, and show them what they had."

The young man is thrilled by Cobb's lifestyle. He attempts break-ins of his own, as Cobb encourages and guides him. At Cobb's suggestion, he alters his appearance, cutting his hair short and wearing a dark suit. The young man assumes the name of Daniel Lloyd based on the credit card Cobb gives to him and the young man begins to pursue a relationship with a blonde woman whom he meets at a bar and who claims to be the girlfriend of a local gangster. It is later revealed that he and Cobb had broken into her flat prior to this first meeting. Soon, the blonde confides that the gangster is blackmailing her with incriminating photographs. The young man breaks into the gangster's safe, but the only photos he finds are innocuous modelling shots.

so Why does she asked to break the gangster's safe??? To know the secret you have to pick this DVD.

As per Vish:- As all Nolan's movies this flick too has a darker side and leaves lots of questions to the viewers, though he gives us answers to most of them...still your mind will have !!! marks all over. The best part of Nolan is....he never gives chance to viewers to have their pop-corn or beer!! his movies requires complete attention and dedication towards the happenings and you have to keep FOLLOWING the events or else you will stuck in the LIMBO and will live in that dream of reality. (what am I doing...mixing up Following with Inception!!!as cobb is the name of the protagonist in both movies!!)OOops never mind people my 'mind' is still following and thinking what could be the exact story!!! hahahaha have a nice BRILLIANT viewing and let me know what you followed :)

Bisection of Inception

Hi people forgive me for the long gaps I am taking to review the movies. These days I am not even getting time to watch movies..dont ask me why...as I dont want to cover it up with some reason. I am just unable to allocate some time and internet is also a big hazard as there is no net @ home and forget about work place...as "Browsing is strictly prohibited"! lol . But as always I ensure that whenever I come back it will be with right stuff. Today I am going to bisect my previous post! yeah I am re-reviewing my post on Inception...and it is called 'Bisection of Inception'!! so, lets get into the lecture...

First let me answer my questions from the previous post...

1. Why the movie starts with a dream which Cobb dreams only at the end of the film. I mean why didnt Chris started the movie with a crime scene between cobb & saito. There should be some specific reason why he started with Cobb laying helplessly on a shore with a gun & his spinning-top. What is the reason of starting movie with this scene??

A. The movie starts like a dream...a half remembered dream.

2. Due to the high chemical compound when a person in the dream dies...he must get lost in a limbo..but why does saito is not lost when he dies in a penultimate scene??
A. Actually he is lost in limbo for several years (dream time)...only after seeing the totem and gun carried by Cobb(First scene repeated) he comes to know that they are in dream and in-order to kick-back to reality they have to kill themselves.

3. Why after achieving such a big task...nobody(especially Cobb) is happy and rather seems stressful and surprised while coming out of the plane??

A. Everybody does gesture the sucess of mission...I realised it after several viewings. The only who doesnt feel victory is Cobb as his target is not the inception but meeting his Kids. So, once he meet them he leaves everything behind...even the totem!

4. This is rather a silly question...but dont laugh and educate me....who removes all the wires which are injucted to everyone in the plane before the dream is ended. Chris shows in a such a way that once Cobb opens eyes everyone is waking up from their own world.

A. Actually after several viewings..I came to know that everybody is UP except Cobb & Saito...as they are struck in limbo. And I guess the compound runs out of specific time...so once it is out no matter in which state you are..you will be kicked-out(remember all the team except Cobb & saito will be waiting at the shore after the van is dropped into the river. They are all waiting till the chemical compound runsout). Suppose say..if anyone is in limbo then even if the checmical-compound runs out they may come out or maynot or even if they comeout...they dont remember what happened in the dream.

5. And again he(Chris-director) confuses us/me by showing Saito taking a phone..will he call-up immigration to do the needful for Cobb as promised???

A. lol yeah the main motto of Nolan is to confuse us/me...so he is suceeded in that mission. And yes Saito does call up the immigration and does the needful to Cobb as promised.(Though it is not showed...it is left to viewer's imagination)

Now the Bisection:-

Let me spill the beans first...from my point of view the whole movie is a dream hence it is told in a dream style, except the climax. Yes...the climax is REALLY REAL..and as Cobb(De Caprio) we should not care about whether the totem spins or falls.

First scene: Cobb wakes up on shore sees his projection of his kids playing with sand. He has been dragged into a room where Saito is observing the gun & totem which Cobb carried. And now Saito asks Cobb "Have you come to kill me (after seeing the gun)...and spinning the top he tells that I know this...it is from a guy who I know from a half remembered dream" camera shifts to Cobb...he stops eating and tries to remember what happened....now the scenes cuts into the same room where Cobb starts explaining Saito about how powerful is an Idea.

By the above scene we can easily identify that the movie starts like a dream...as we dont know how exactly a dream starts.--Nolan scores full marks here.

Now the confusion starts when Mal comes into every mission of Cobb and disturbs him....so let me explain who is Mal???

Mal is the projection of Cobb's guilt for which he lost her. So, it is not Mal which is disturbing him...but it is his guilt which is disturbing him. Only his mind knows what is the crime he has done...and thus Nolan justifies his tagline..."Your mind is the scene of the Crime". So, inorder to get rid-off that guilt, Cobb confesses to his sub-consious mind that he is the one who has done the crime of planting an idea which leads his lady love to die.

Who are the Kids and are they real??

Till the climax..Kids are just projection of Cobb's sub-consious mind similar to the projection of Mal. But Kids are his target... means that is his motto or source of his life...he has to reach them no matter what happens to his life. Where as Mal is his guilt....so, to reach his target he has to cross-over the guilt.

Nolan repeatedly hints us that Kids are his(cobb's) target and thus show him the way to reach the destination...take an example of Aridane & Cobb searching Fischer in limbo.

And Cobb's mind doesnt want to imagine his kids faces. The reason is simple if he sees their faces in dream, then even if he meets them in reality... he will be in confusion whether it is a dream or real...so he makes up his mind in such a way that it will not concentrate on his kids faces in dream.

Hence, once he sees their faces after reaching home(Climax) he is sure that it is REALLY REAL!

What is the fight in Mombasa..and how come Saito appears all of a sudden??

This one scene struck my mind a lot. But as far as my observation it all just happens like in a dream fight. And I keep on remembering that it is all happening in the flashback dream where Cobb is trying to remember.(Read First Scene again)

How important is Ariadne character??

I hear lots of people saying this...this character is of no use in the movie. But I totally disagree with that statement because...it is Ariadne character which makes us know what is a dream and what is a reality...it is she who makes Cobb confortable to confess his guilt. And in that way she helps his mind to cross-over that barrier and makes it to reach the target (kids).

Is Mal really dead...the way she jumps from hotel looks like a dream??

This scene proves once again that everything that is shown is in a dream style. Mal maight have died in a similar way...but Cobb's subconsious mind shows it as she was jumping from the opposite room and she jumps into an infinitee.

NOTE:- As I already told you from my point of view the whole movie till Cobb opens his eyes in flight is a dream and hence Nolan showed it as a dream. So, once you come out of the theatre it is not possible to understand what you just saw...just like a "half remembered dream".

And you may question me if everything is a dream then how about kids and mal and inception...is that not real??

No, what I mean is the whole story which is showed to us is like a dream and cobb is the dreamer. But I am very specific that it has happened in the similar way in his real life...dont get confused..if you are...just clearly observe the opening scene and the climax scene, you will get more clarity.

Opening scene: Which I have already explained clearly.

Climax scene: Lets continue from the limbo stage....saito continues explaining about his "half remembered dream" and tells Cobb that they both should go back and be young...and he also tells about the arrangement which he promised to do and asks him to take the leap of faith. The camera shows Saito picking up the gun...scene cuts to the flight where Cobb opens his eyes and sees everyone already smiling and waiting for him to wakeup. Saito on the other side is waking up slowly tells us that in limbo first Saito kills Cobb and kills himself thats why Cobb wakesup first and Saito follows. After wakingup Saito immedeatly takes the phone and we have to assume that he has made the arrangement for Cobb to enter his home land.

Now once Cobb enters his house...he will be rather confused to predict whether he is in a dream or real as even in the dream his house looks similar or same...so to know whether it is a dream or real he spins the totem...but once he sees the kids faces he cares a damn about totem...whether it falls or not, Cobb is least bothered as he can see his kids face only in reality not in dream.

Hence by the above observation I can happily conclude that the climax is REALLY REAL :)

But the reason why Nolan shifts the camera to Totem...is to confuse us! and I guess his target is achieved.

Disclaimer: Dont forget that everything is being remembered by Cobb from his "Half remembered dream" = Dream. So, in this dream Nolan never spoon feeds the viewer, he just gives us the info which is needed for that time and rest throws to our imagination..and all we need to take into the consideration is what Nolan is trying to say..and leave the rest.
And you cant cross-question Nolan saying why didnt he showed it..as he can say that...have you ever recollected what happened in your last dream!!!

Mulholland Dr.

Hello people nice to meet you after a looong time! as usual I got stuck up with my work...and had no time to blog...Yeah not even on weekends. So...whenever I think of this blog I think of wonderful movies which I have in recent times...and one of those movie is 'Mulholland Dr.' also called as 'Mulholland Drive' which made me think while watching and even after watching! So, people are you ready to investigate what happened on Mulholland Dr.....lets release the reel...

A dark-haired woman (Laura Elena Harring) escapes her own murder by being the sole survivor of a car accident on Mulholland Drive. Injured and in shock, she descends into Los Angeles and sneaks into an apartment which an older, red-headed woman has recently vacated. An aspiring actress named Betty Elms (Naomi Watts) arrives at the same apartment the red-headed woman has just vacated and finds the dark-haired woman confused, not knowing her own name. The dark-haired woman assumes the name "Rita" when she sees a poster for the film Gilda (1946), starring Rita Hayworth. Betty decides to assist her in discovering her identity, and they look in Rita's purse where they find a large amount of money and an unusual blue key.

A man in a diner called Winkies tells his companion about a nightmare in which he dreamt there was a horrible figure behind the diner. When they investigate, the figure appears, causing the man with the nightmare to collapse in fright. Later, a bungling hit man attempts to steal a book full of phone numbers and leaves three people dead. A Hollywood director named Adam Kesher (Justin Theroux) has his film commandeered by apparent mobsters, who insist he cast an unknown actress named Camilla Rhodes (Melissa George) as the lead in his film. After he resists, he returns home to find his wife having an affair and is thrown out of his house. He later learns that his bank has closed his line of credit and he is broke. He agrees to meet a mysterious figure called The Cowboy, who urges him to cast Camilla Rhodes for his own good.

Betty and Rita try to learn more about her accident and Rita remembers the name "Diane Selwyn" after they are served by a waitress named Diane in Winkies. They call Diane Selwyn after finding her in the phone book, but she does not answer. Betty goes to an audition, where her performance is highly praised. A casting agent takes her to the set of a film called The Sylvia North Story, directed by Adam, where Camilla Rhodes gives an audition and Adam declares, "This is the girl." Saying that she needs to meet a friend, Betty flees before she can meet Adam.

Betty and Rita go to Diane Selwyn's apartment and break in when no one answers the door. In the bedroom they find the body of a woman who has been dead for several days. Terrified, they return to their apartment, where Rita disguises herself with a blonde wig. The two women make love that night and awake at 2 a.m., when Rita insists they go to an eerie theater called Club Silencio. A performer explains in several languages that everything is an illusion; a woman begins singing then collapses, although her vocals continue. Betty finds a blue box in her purse that matches Rita's key. Upon returning to the apartment, Rita retrieves the key and finds that Betty has disappeared. Rita unlocks the box....

What is there in that box??? where is Betty?? why did she disappeared suddenly?? What happens now??? to know all these unresolved questions you have to start investigating.

As per Vish: The reason why I told "You have to start investigating" is...the movie ends abruptly and leaves the answers to viewers imagination. So, the director gave chance to us to investigate the case. Trust me you will never get to concrete solution as the way director tells the story...he makes sure you will be lost...and after sometime you will be following the story...not understanding it. Hence makes you impossible to crack the jinx. So people to investigate this case you have to see this movie multiple times and make sure not to get trapped by Director's screenplay! lol

One of the most thrilling movie I have ever seen as it made me to think even after couple of days of viewing...I guess still I am unable to investigate properly! rofl So, people I recommend this flick for all who think they belong to intelligent viewer's list to pick this DVD. Have a thrilling Mulholland Dr :)

Shutter Island

Hello people I hope everyone are doing great and enjoying IPL...watching movies...some times working :)for me its vice-versa as I am working overtime....waching movies some time and no chance of watching IPL(as there is no Idiot Box @ room)!! so...I hope you got the reason for my absence on my blog. Dont worry this absence will be ignored with the help of best movie...and today I came up with such an another movie called 'Shutter Island'...another awesome movie from the most craziest & trust worthy combo Martin Scorsese & Leonardo DiCaprio. Yes! the same combo which gave us 'Gangs of New York', 'The Aviator' & 'The Departed'. So, I guess this buildup is enough to rise the expectations...lets get into the story....

In 1954, U.S. Marshal Teddy Daniels (Leonardo DiCaprio) and his partner, Chuck Aule (Mark Ruffalo), go to the Ashecliff Hospital for the criminally insane on Shutter Island. They are investigating the disappearance of Rachel Solando (Emily Mortimer), a patient who vanished from a locked room. Dr. John Cawley (Ben Kingsley), the head psychiatrist, explains that Rachel was institutionalized after drowning her three children. She believes, however, that she is still home and that her children are still alive.

The cliffs surrounding the perimeter make it impossible for Rachel to have reached the nearby caves. Teddy sees a lighthouse but is told it has already been searched. The Marshals question the staff and learn that Rachel’s psychiatrist, Dr. Sheehan, left for vacation that morning. Teddy asks to see the hospital’s personnel files but Cawley refuses. That night, Teddy has strange dreams about his wife, Dolores (Michelle Williams), who died in a fire two years before. She tells him Rachel is still on the island, as is Andrew Laeddis, the man who started the fire.

In the morning, they interview patients from Rachel’s group therapy sessions, one of whom passes Teddy a warning to run. Teddy explains to Chuck the real reason he took the case: after being transferred to Ashecliff, Andrew Laeddis disappeared. When Teddy investigated, he met a former patient who claimed that the facility was performing human experiments. Rachel is finally found near the lighthouse but when returned to her cell she is unresponsive to Teddy’s questioning. He eventually finds George Noyce (Jackie Earle Haley), the man who told him about the experiments. George says that the whole situation is a game for Teddy’s benefit and that he is afraid of being taken to the lighthouse.

Teddy tries to reach the lighthouse and discovers a cave where the real Rachel Solando (Patricia Clarkson) is hiding. She was a doctor at Ashecliff until she found out about the experiments and was committed as a patient. She explains that the hospital is using psychotropic medication in an attempt to master mind control, with the goal of creating sleeper agents for use in the Cold War. She says that Teddy has been similarly drugged since he arrived on the island.

awwwww is she right?? has Teddy been drugged & dragged to this island?? is his partner the real one??? is Teddy became the scape goat?? What is actually happening in this island?? to know all these secrets you have to pick this DVD.

As per Vish: An outstanding psychological thriller which spills beans at the right time with enough momentum....it always gives clue to catch...yet does not reveal anything till the end. Performances by both DiCaprio & Ben Kingsley are too good for the story to increase the thriller quotient. So, people this summer M&D are opening the door to their 'Shutter Island'....are you ready to enter!! Enjooooy :)

Tell No One

Hello people I hope you are all doing good and had a great week. This week I watched some of the wonderful movies which spell bounded me. This movie 'Tell No One' tops the list of those....it has engrossing storyline with effective twists and turns till the end which makes a perfect platter for weekend. So, people are you ready for the meal?

Alex Beck (François Cluzet) is a doctor who has slowly been putting his life back together after his wife Margot (Marie-Josée Croze) was murdered by a serial killer. Eight years on, Alex is doing well enough until he finds himself implicated in the murder of two people, with plenty of evidence pointing to him as the killer even though he knows nothing of the crimes. The same day, Alex receives an e-mail that appears to be from Margot, which includes a link to a live surveillance video clip that features his late wife looking alive and well. The message warns Alex that they are both being watched, and he struggles to stay one step ahead of the law even as a gang of strong-arm men intimidate Alex's friends into telling whatever they might know about him, and kill one of them, Charlotte. Alex's sister Anne (Marina Hands) persuades her well-to-do wife Hélène (Kristin Scott Thomas) to hire a respected attorney, Élisabeth Feldman (Nathalie Baye), to handle Alex's case.

It is gradually revealed that Margot is apparently still alive: she attempts to arrange a meeting with Alex by sending him an email which he must read in an internet cafe to avoid being spied on. Before the meeting time, a warrant is issued for Alex's arrest for the murder of Charlotte; he goes on the run while he and his lawyer struggle to find out the truth about the murder as well as Margot's reappearance. Alex is rescued from the policemen following him by Bruno, a gangster from a rough part of the city who owes Alex a favour. The meeting with Margot is prevented by the mysterious strongmen who abduct Alex, only to be defeated when Bruno reappears to save Alex again. Margot is seen almost escaping on a flight to Buenos Aires before having second thoughts and leaving, just before the police arrive to arrest her.

Elizabeth the lawyer proves that Alex has an alibi for the murder of Charlotte, thanks to witnesses at the internet cafe. Gradually, Alex learns that there are numerous mysteries about his wife's death, including mysterious photos of her covered in bruises, and traces of heroin in her body.

So, will our hero able to resolve all these mysteries???? Is she really dead???? what happened on that night???? to know all these secrets you have to pick this DVD.

As per Vish: Undoubtedly one of the BEST AND MUST WATCH THRILLER which makes you sit till the end credits and gives you surprises every now and then. Kudos to the director and dont forget to get the English version of this movie (as the original is in French). Have a great Sunday people :)

Marathon Man

Hello people I hope you all are having a great week at your work place. Today I am coming up with spine chilling thriller called 'Marathon Man'. So people are u ready to know about this Marathon Man....

Thomas Levy (Dustin Hoffman), nicknamed "Babe" in the film, is a history Ph.D. candidate researching the same field as his father, who committed suicide after being investigated during the Joseph McCarthy era. Babe is also an avid runner, which lends the film its title. Babe's brother, Henry (Roy Scheider), better known as "Doc", poses as an oil company executive, but in fact he is a U.S. government agent working for an agency headed up by Director Peter Janeway (William Devane). Babe is not aware of his brother's true occupation.

Doc is often supposedly out of the country on business for extended periods of time but comes to New York under the guise of a visit to Thomas. The brother of a Nazi war criminal possessed a safety deposit box key, but is killed in a traffic accident (after a humorous road rage altercation with an elderly Jewish motorist). Doc suspects that the criminal, Dr. Christian Szell (Laurence Olivier) will be arriving to retrieve an extremely valuable diamond collection.

Babe soon enters into a relationship with a young woman named Elsa Opel, who claims to be from Switzerland. One night while out on a date Elsa and Babe are seemingly mugged in a park by two men dressed in suits. Some time later, Doc takes the couple to lunch, where he tricks Elsa into revealing that she has been lying to Babe about her background. Though Doc suspects she may have some connection to Szell, he tells Babe only that she is simply seeking an American husband so that she can become a U.S. citizen.

After Szell arrives in America, Doc meets him to flatly state that the former Nazi is not welcome in the country. Szell casually accepts the pronouncement, but then swiftly knifes the spy, wounding him severely. Doc is able to make it back to his brother's apartment, but collapses and dies in Babe's arms without telling him anything. The police interrogate Babe for hours, until government agents led by Peter Janeway arrive.

Oooh poor Babe! will he get out this murder....will he crack this mystery....who maight have done this murder, is Babe's girlfriend had something to do it? to know all these secrets you have to pick this DVD.

As per Vish: A wonderful thriller in all aspects which makes your viewing a pop corn spiiling one. 'Dustin Hoffman' as Babe has done superb job, it remains one of the best thrillers he has ever done. Have a happy viewing :)

Angels & Demons

Hello people I hope you all enjoying your weekend. I too had a good weekend...having a beer, wine and chicken(self prepared! ofcourse)and a good movie. Though I can not share the above eatables movie can be shared...so I am here are you ready? The one which I want to share is 'Angels & Demons' starring none other than ever dependable 'Tom Hanks'. So, lets dont waste time and know about these Angels & Demons....

Under the watchful eyes of Father Silvano Bentivoglio and Dr. Vittoria Vetra, the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) initiates the Large Hadron Collider and captures three vials of antimatter. Immediately afterward, someone kills Father Silvano, using his retina to infiltrate the containment chamber, and steals one vial.

The Roman Catholic Church mourns the death of Pope Pius XVI in Rome. Vatican City prepares for the College of Cardinals' papal conclave, which will select the next Pope. Until that time, Camerlengo Patrick McKenna, a papal court official and former helicopter pilot, assumes temporary control of the Vatican. Reporters, nuns, priests, and other faithful members of the Church crowd into Saint Peter's Square, waiting for white smoke from the conclave. But the Illuminati, a 400-year old, underground secret society, kidnap the four most likely candidates before the conclave enters seclusion. The Illuminati threaten to kill one every hour, beginning at 8:00 pm, and then destroy the Vatican in a burst of light at midnight. A stolen security camera shows the missing antimatter vial, which will catastrophically explode when the vial's battery dies and the magnetic containment field fails.

The Vatican summons symbologist Robert Langdon from Harvard University and Vittoria Vetra from CERN to help them solve the Illuminati's threat, save the four preferiti, and replace the vial's batteries. Langdon listens to the Illuminati message and deduces that the four cardinals will die at the four altars of the "Path of Illumination". However, no one knows where these altars are located. Vetra demands that Commander Richter, the commandant of the Swiss Guard, to bring Father Silvano's diaries from Switzerland, hoping that they contain the name of the person with whom Silvano discussed the antimatter experiment. Langdon also demands access to the Vatican Secret Archives (something he has requested for 10 years) to see the original copy of Galileo Galilei's banned book, which may contain the locations of the four "altars of science". Using the clues from this book, Langdon, Vetra, Inspector General Ernesto Olivetti, and Lieutenant Valenti of the Vatican Gendarmerie Corps race to the first church, only to find the first cardinal, Cardinal Ebner, dead, suffocated with dirt and branded with the word "Earth". They verify the second altar's location and arrive, only to witness the death of the second cardinal, Cardinal Lamassa, his lungs lacerated and his body branded with the word "Air". While Vetra studies Silvano's diaries, Langdon and the Vatican officers locate the third church(Santa Maria della Vittoria Basilica) and try to save the third cardinal, Cardinal Gudiera, from burning to death, but the assassin appears and kills everyone but Langdon. The cardinal succumbs to the flames, his body branded with the word "Fire."

hmmmmm nice thrilling scene...will our hero and his Co able to find the final and last victim and will they able to save him? who is behind these assassins will they ever find him or not? what is the main motto behind these assassins? To fill in these blanks you have to watch the flick.

As per Vish: A wonderful thriller which ensures enough thrills till the end credits. What can I say about Tom...he is just superb So, have a roller coaster ride through out the movie with Tom Hanks and have a fantastic sunday evening :)

Red Dragon

Hello people I hope you all enjoyed my last offering 'Ransom' and getting for next flick. Today I am coming up with a psycho/thriller called 'Red Dragon'. So lets know what is this Red Dragon....

In his Baltimore townhouse, famous local psychiatrist Dr. Hannibal Lecter hosts a dinner party. The main subject of conversation over dinner is the disappearance of a local musician who was criticized for playing several wrong notes at a concert that Lecter attended. He then serves what the guests see as a delicious meal.

After dinner, Lecter is visited by Will Graham, a young gifted FBI agent, with whom he has been working on a psychological profile of a local serial killer. Edible body parts of the victims, such as the kidneys and liver were removed from the bodies after being killed, and Graham is convinced that the killer is actually a cannibal. During the consultation and brainstorming session, Graham discovers evidence implicating Dr. Lecter in the murders, shortly before Lecter returns and attacks Graham, wounding and nearly killing him before Graham resists and subdues him.

Lecter is subsequently sentenced to life imprisonment in an institution for the criminally insane while Graham, severely traumatized by the experience, retires from the FBI.

Years later, another serial killer appears. Nicknamed the Tooth Fairy, he stalks and murders seemingly random families during sequential full moons. Hoping to speed things up and capture the killer before his next attack, Special Agent Jack Crawford seeks out Graham and pleads for his assistance. Graham, believing the death of another family to be an unbearable burden on his conscience, reluctantly agrees. After checking over the crime scenes, with only minimal insight, he comes to the realization that most of his previous successes were achieved due to the insightful collaborations of Dr. Lecter, and concludes that he must once again visit Lecter and seek his help in capturing the Tooth Fairy.

The Tooth Fairy is actually a disturbed man named Francis Dolarhyde who suffers from schizophrenia and worships Lecter after learning of his crimes. Calling himself The Great Red Dragon (because of his obsession with the William Blake painting, "The Great Red Dragon and the Woman Clothed in Sun"), Dolarhyde is unable to control his violent and sexual urges, which turns him into a dangerous serial killer. These conditions were born from the systematic child abuse he suffered at the hands of his grandmother.

Graham continues to run into complications, the first being Freddy Lounds, a tabloid reporter whom Graham despises from the days following the conviction of Dr. Lecter and who now follows Graham relentlessly for leads on the Tooth Fairy story. Further complicating the investigation is the secret correspondence between Lecter and Dolarhyde, where Lecter provides Dolarhyde with Graham's home address, endangering Graham's wife and child, who are evacuated to a remote farm which belongs to Crawford's brother. Graham discovers the secret communication and tries to intercept it without Lecter's knowledge but the doctor is quick to realise that the Feds are onto him and his protegé and humiliates the authorities by upping the stakes: in return for his help in capturing the Tooth Fairy, he requests a first-class meal in his cell and having his book privileges returned.

Hoping to lure the Tooth Fairy into a trap, Graham gives Lounds an interview in which he gives disparaging details about what the FBI believe the killer to be: impotent and pathetic — whereas in fact they consider him cunning and highly dangerous. This provokes Dolarhyde but instead of Graham he kidnaps Lounds, tortures him, forces him to recant his allegations before setting him on fire and depositing him outside his newspaper's offices.

At about the same time, Dolarhyde falls in love with a blind co-worker named Reba McClane. Dolarhyde's new-found love conflicts with his homicidal urges, which manifest themselves in his mind as 'The Great Red Dragon'.

hmmmmm nice twist...will he sacrifices his love to his homicidal urges....or will he kill his love....will Graham able to crack the case....is the climax.

As per Vish: Though this movie is made as a prequel to famous Oscar winner 'The Silence of the Lambs', it falls short of the sequel. But superb performances by Edward Norton, Anthony Hopkins, Ralph Fiennes and Emily Watson makes this movie WORTH A WATCH.

Directed by: Brett Ratner
Running time: 124 min

The Cell

Hi people hmmm I can hear what your heart is mumbling..TGIF(Thank Got Its Friday)! lol you will be planning to do lots of pending work in these two days and wants to meet as many friends as possible and booking for as many movies as possible...(though endup watching cricket @ home or sleeping half of the day! lol) Just Kidding yaar :) But dont worry I am here to present you one of the good psychological thriller called 'The Cell'. So lets see what happened in this Cell....

Child psychologist Catherine Deane (Jennifer Lopez) is an expert in an experimental treatment for coma patients. This involves wearing a virtual reality suit and complete sensory immersion within the minds of her patients in order to coax them out of their coma. Here, she can meet and communicate with them in dream-like sequences. The story begins inside a little boy's mind with Catherine, dressed in a white gown, is riding a black horse in a desert to meet with him. Catherine attempts to talk to the boy, Edward, whom she calls "Mr. E".

Meanwhile, there is a disturbed serial killer named Carl Rudolph Stargher, played by Vincent D'Onofrio, who captures his victims, who are beautiful women, and then imprisons them in a glass cell, hidden in the basement of an abandoned manufacturing facility. In this cell a shower periodically turns on and showers them for a short time, and will then abruptly stop. Eventually, however, it turns on and doesn't stop. The whole cell is filled with water and the victims drown (with this being videotaped for his later viewing pleasure). After further mutilation of their corpses, he dumps their bodies in a ditch off a highway to be found by the FBI. The police have been tracking Carl down for quite some time. But just as they finally apprehend him, however, he falls into a coma due to his unusual form of schizophrenia, before they can find out where his latest abductee, and her glass cell, is located. Catherine is contacted by the FBI to venture into Carl's mind to find the answer before the cell fills with water and it is too late. The killer's mind, however, is an extremely strange, abstract, sexual, violent and disturbing place, drastically different from those of her previous patients. She finds it difficult to stay in the hostile and frightening environment for any considerable length of time. During her repeated attempts to find a way to communicate with Stargher, she realizes that there are basically two separate 'entities' within the man's psyche.

What are that two entities in his mind and will our sexy JLO able to help FBI to find out his last victim. Or will she endup as a victim....to know the secret you have to watch this thrilling climax.

As per vish: First thing first kudos to the director who has the roots from our own India and made such a different movie :) And it is very refreshing to watch JLO in a lead character performing well. A good psychological thriller which touches your brain atleast once! lol Have a nice weekend people hope you all complete your plans :)
