Hi people, I hope everyone had a great week...but I am getting weaker every week! lol yeah you got it right it is just work work work for me, and as you all know my only past time is watching some brilliant movies. The best part of being on-site is the work is heavy, beers are cheap and movies can be dowloaded at work place. So, as I cant share either my work or my beer....the only thing left is movies...and hence writing these reviews and thus sharing my knowledge!! Today I am coming up with a brilliant movie called "Following" which is directed by none other than my all time favourite director "Christopher Nolan". This flick is a first movie of Nolan but you dont feel that either in direction or in his screen writing..and that proves that he is not a director by chance..but with cause. So, are you guys & gals FOLLOWING..
A struggling, unemployed young writer takes to following strangers around the streets of London, ostensibly to find inspiration for his first novel.
Initially, he sets strict rules for himself regarding whom he should follow and for how long, but soon discards them as he focuses on a well-groomed, handsome young man in a dark suit. The man in the suit, having noticed he is being followed, quickly confronts the young man and introduces himself as "Cobb". Cobb reveals that he is a serial burglar and invites the young man to accompany him on various burglaries. The material gains from these crimes seem to be of secondary importance to Cobb, who takes pleasure in rifling through the personal items in his targets' flats, and doing things such as drinking their wine. He explains that his true passion is using the shock of robbery and violation of property to make his victims re-examine their lives. He sums up his attitude thus: "You take it away, and show them what they had."
The young man is thrilled by Cobb's lifestyle. He attempts break-ins of his own, as Cobb encourages and guides him. At Cobb's suggestion, he alters his appearance, cutting his hair short and wearing a dark suit. The young man assumes the name of Daniel Lloyd based on the credit card Cobb gives to him and the young man begins to pursue a relationship with a blonde woman whom he meets at a bar and who claims to be the girlfriend of a local gangster. It is later revealed that he and Cobb had broken into her flat prior to this first meeting. Soon, the blonde confides that the gangster is blackmailing her with incriminating photographs. The young man breaks into the gangster's safe, but the only photos he finds are innocuous modelling shots.
so Why does she asked to break the gangster's safe??? To know the secret you have to pick this DVD.
As per Vish:- As all Nolan's movies this flick too has a darker side and leaves lots of questions to the viewers, though he gives us answers to most of them...still your mind will have !!! marks all over. The best part of Nolan is....he never gives chance to viewers to have their pop-corn or beer!! his movies requires complete attention and dedication towards the happenings and you have to keep FOLLOWING the events or else you will stuck in the LIMBO and will live in that dream of reality. (what am I doing...mixing up Following with Inception!!!as cobb is the name of the protagonist in both movies!!)OOops never mind people my 'mind' is still following and thinking what could be the exact story!!! hahahaha have a nice BRILLIANT viewing and let me know what you followed :)
