We Need to Talk About Kevin

Hi people I hope every one are doing good and having fun in the weekend. Today I am coming up with a movie which disturbed me last night. It is defenetly hell lot of fuck'n movie which shooked for an hour and disturbed my mental strength...it took me almost a day to recover from this movie. Yes yes! coming to the movie name it is called ...'We Need to Talk About Kevin'. So, lets talk about him...

Adolescent Kevin Katchadourian (Ezra Miller) is in prison after committing a massacre at his high school. His mother, Eva (Swinton), a once-successful travel writer, lives alone in a run-down house and works in a mall travel agency in a town near the prison where she visits Kevin. She looks back at her memories of him growing up as she tries to cope with the anger and hostility of her neighbours, who know her to be Kevin's mother. Her memories are shown in flashbacks.

Throughout Kevin's life he has been detached and difficult. He does not bond with his mother; as a baby he cries incessantly, resists toilet training, rebuffs her attempts at affection, and shows no interest in anything. While he is still small, Eva's frustration with his intractability drives her to throw Kevin against the wall, breaking his arm. When Eva tries to talk to her husband, Franklin (John C. Reilly), about her increasing concern about Kevin's problems, he dismisses her concerns and makes excuses for Kevin's behaviour. Their second child, Celia, is lively and cheerful. Kevin finally shows interest in something when Franklin gives Kevin a bow and arrow set and teaches him archery. Kevin becomes an excellent marksman.

If you tell this story in a linear format it will become a normal thriller and still meets your expectations if the director is 'Lynne Ramsay'(Thats the power of this story and director)...but if the same director is telling the story in non-linear format you can imagine the thrill factor...you just dont know what and why he(kevin) is doing all this till the end credits and literally even after the credits roll-on. It is just amazing to learn how the new age directors are exploring new ways of making audience thrill with their style of story telling.

Coming to the acting Tilda Swinton as Kevin's mom is so good that you wonder why she didnt get an Academy Award for this feature film. There is no words to explain her marvelous performance...she is just supremely superb. She is followed by Ezra Miller as Kevin...he is just awesome...I still doubt how Lynne explained the character to this guy...but he scored A+. Technically this movie stands out for its mind boggling photography and crispy editing.

As per Vish:- Prepare yourself for some highly disturbing movie of all time.
